Hello there, and congratulations - you have booked a pregnancy home studio photoshoot with Nordic Tales Photography… and you are probably wondering what to expect?
If you have followed me on social media for a while, you probably know, that I have a big hate for studio photography. White walls, perfect posing, extensively curated pictures - this is not for me.
Most of my pregnancy photoshoots are done outdoors. But over the years, I discovered the life in Sweden comes with weather that… let’s just say, sometimes we don’t want to be out in nature ;)
So I decided to offer my own home, in a little ‘studio twist’ set-up for these shoots… so you can come, relax and have a cup of coffee while we create some memories for you that will last forever! Here, you get to be my guest, and focus on what’s important: The the love, the longing and the new little human inside you, that soon will join us in this world!
What can you expect from a (home) studio?
The idea is simple - while there is a small studio set-up with white background, lights and all you can expect from a photo studio, we will utilise the space like we would in your own home. Some pictures, we will take front of the white studio wall - this is a great set-up to get clean, timeless portraits of your little one!
Because I love natural light, I will also ask you to pose next to the window, and if you like, we can also get some homey shoots in the bedroom, where you all sit on a big bed. Just like at home - without the need of tidying up first! ;)

In a pregnancy photoshoot, your belly is the star - so don’t hesitate to push it out!! ;) I will advise you on the best angles for the shoot, but one thing is clear - we ALWAYS want to see your belly! More often than not, I will take pictures from the side to catch you in your profile, I will ask you to stand, sit, even lie - we will take it by what feels good (and also how your body allows you to move)!
I also encourage you to bring your partner or siblings, if already available! And while you and this cute belly are clearly the star of the show, we will also ask your partner and kids to join in to capture a beautiful family portrait at the same time. If you have followed my work on social media or looked at my website, you will find that my pictures remain quite natural, almost un-staged even though we shoot in a studio set-up. I don’t overly brush pictures, there are no ‘magical’ edits that make you look like a (strange) magazine cover, this is not the intention and purpose of my work. We will aim to capture the emotion, the love and excitement for what is coming - in the most natural way possible.

It’s the most frequently asked question and a concern - what can baby and I possibly wear?
To put it out there straight away (and you will recognise this on my pictures)… I love all nudes, beiges, whites! They make skin look beautiful, are classy and timeless and put the focus of the eye on what is important in the image: the face, the expression, the emotion!
The recommendation I give to everyone is to come in an outfit you feel comfortable with! Pick something without big patterns and in neutral colours, anything that is soft, maybe even knitted, something that hugs your and baby’s body! This is the time to also put on your most beautiful underwear and show off your curves (I absolutely promise you: No matter how you feel about your body now, you will be beyond impressed with looking back!=
And beyond that, I have a few items in my rental wardrobe, that I am happy to prepare - just let me know upfront which ones you are interested in, and I’ll make sure we will have them ready for the photoshoot! You can check out the outfits here:

I hope you booked your photoshoot with me because you like classy, but very natural and not too heavily staged pictures! What you cannot expect, are probs, pregnancy swings taht are flying you through the air and of these weird and wonderful things that you see out there! I hope we are in agreement here :)

There are 2 flights of stairs to climb, but so far every expectant mother has managed to get up! :)
This was a lot of information to digest! So I want to close this of saying that I’m so looking forward to meet you, and to make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you!
